Signal Flags?

The most important function of marine flags is to convey messages to other vessels. Black and yellow checkered quarantine flags signal disease to other boats - someone on your vessel is ill. Solid yellow flag states that no one onboard is ill, usually used when requesting entry to a port. A red flag is raised during boat races to bring attention to an illegal move. A red flag with a white diagonal line tells other vessels a diver is below the water nearby, warning them to be cautious.
