Better than pyrotechnics
Just bought a boat and researched an alternative to flares as the ones that came with the boat were expired. I think for the money and what it provides is a no brainer to go with this option. As another reviewer mentioned, just stay on top of the batteries yearly to be sure you have full operation of the device. It’s waterproof and is very bright, it makes sense getting this signaling device over conventional flares. Also the bonus it comes with a daytime distress flag which is also needed for your kit on your watercraft. Great value in my mind.
