Seachoice Cast Iron Mushroom Anchor

Features:

• Applications: small boats, inflatables and mooring buoys
• One-piece cast iron
• Most effective in sand or mud
• Popular for fishermen, drift anchoring and race buoys
• The raised lip ensures gripping power in soft mud and sand surfaces
• Shaped like an inverted mushroom, the head becomes buried in the soft seabed and will normally sink in to the point where it has displaced its own weight in seabed material
• The holding power of this anchor is at best about twice its weight unless it becomes buried, when it can be as much as ten times its weight
• A counterweight is often provided at the other end of the shank to lay it down before it becomes buried
• Two coating choices:
  • Double dipped, aluminum painted cast iron for rust resistance
  • Heavy gauge black vinyl coated cast iron for hull protection
